Awami Tehreek not to take part in polls

LAHORE – Pakistan Awami Tehreek believes in democracy but will not take part in any election exercise under the present system as it will be tantamount to stabbing people in the back.
PAT President Faizur Rehman Durrani said this while addressing a seminar on the subject “Let us save country, not politics’ held on Wednesday.
Faizur Rehman said that December 23 will be remembered as an important day in the country’s history as the real representative of the people Dr Tahirul Qadri will return and present the agenda of new Pakistan on that day.
He said that the masses would extend a resounding welcome to Dr Qadri and pledge to support him in the fulfillment of his agenda. He said that the current electoral system was anti-democracy as it tended to protect the interests of a powerful minority at the cost of the masses.
