LAHORE – A man was tortured to death by his would-be wife and her family members when he was about to contract third marriage in Shahdara Town area, police said on Sunday night.
Shabbir Hussain told the police that Chanda Bibi along with her mother and brother tortured his brother, Zaheer Ahmed, to death at their residential quarter located at Kala Khatai Road. According to the complainant, Zaheer visited the house of his would-be in-laws on Sunday night, where his in-laws exchanged harsh words his him and later they tortured him to death.
Zaheer, said to be an official of the Revenue Department, had already two wives. The police have registered the case on the complaint of Shabbir, brother of the deceased. Further investigations were underway.
Expired: An alleged robber who was admitted to a local hospital with bullet wounds about 10 days ago, died there on Sunday, Mochi Gate police said.
Investigators said that the robber had sustained a bullet during robbery attempt at a shop in Mochi Gate police vicinity. Police said that the deceased man was the resident of Mohmand Agency.
