LAHORE - The Lahore High Court Tuesday directed the Punjab chief secretary and other authorities to submit reply regarding proposed demolition of four schools to facilitate construction of new Bus Stand in Shahdara.
The local residents had filed the petition submitting that the government had finalised to demolish four historical schools of Shahdara to build Lorry Adda. They argued that demolition of schools would cause a serious loss to children education in the area.
They stated government claimed that the education was on its priority but the reality was totally different.
The petitioner prayed the court to restrain the government from demolition of schools. After hearing the initial arguments, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah issued notices to the chief secretary and other respondents and sought reply by November 12.
