The Lahore High Court on Monday took notice of the suicide attempt by two sisters who were gang raped as accused were still at large.
The LHC complaint cell took notice of the incident as reported by the media and directed the district & sessions judge, Lahore to look into the matter regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments submit report within a week.
According to the news report, mother of victims submitted an application at Police Station Factory Area.
She claimed that accused Nazim Shaukat and Iqbal accompanied with two others raped her daughters on the pretext of providing them job. Police registered the case against said four culprits but failed to arrest them.
On this, both the ill-fated girls attempted to commit suicide. Later on, police arrested accused Iqbal with his driver on direction of DIG Investigation.
Summoned
The LHC Monday summoned Bank of Punjab president for not paying compensation to cameraman Aftab Shah of a private television channel, who was critically injured during media coverage of a marathon race in 2012.
Justice Muhammad Khalid Mahmood Khan directed the president to appear on June 7.
