LAHORE: A suspect, with the support of his lawyers, tried to flee after the Lahore High Court dismissed his bail application in a torture case but the police personnel arrested him here on Wednesday.
A suspect through his counsel told the judge that police registered a fake case against him and he did not torture any woman. A deputy prosecutor told the judge that the suspect was found guilty in police investigation. After hearing both sides, Justice Shahid Jamil dismissed his bail application. On it, the suspect tried to flee but police personnel chased him and foiled his escape attempt by taking him into custody. Pir Mahal police had lodged FIR against him for torturing a woman over a land dispute.–Staff Reporter
