LAHORE - A high level delegation led by Vice President of the prominent Chinese company, NORINCO, which is working on Orange Line Metro Train project, Zhu Pengfei, met Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, yesterday.
The pace of civil works of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project was discussed in the meeting. The Vice President of the Chinese company expressed his satisfaction over the progress of civil works of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project and assured completion of the project within stipulated period.
Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that Lahore Orange Line Metro Train project is an extraordinary gift and reflect Pak-China friendship, love and brotherhood. He said that Chinese president, prime minister and the government have given this invaluable gift to the people of Lahore and Pakistanis can never forget this gesture.
He said that a high standard is being maintained with regard to civil works. He said that Orange Line Metro Train project will be a masterpiece of architecture, transparency and quality.
He said that Orange Line Metro Train project will prove to be a game changer with regard to provision of modern, speedy and economical travel facilities to the citizens.
The chief minister said that civil works of the project are being carried out round the clock and will be completed within stipulated period. He said that Pak-China friendship is deep- rooted and China has stood by Pakistan in every hour of need. Vice President of NORINCO said that Orange Line Metro Train project will be completed before the stipulated period and no effort will be spared for this purpose.
He said that Orange Line Metro Train project will be forwarded speedily and expectations of the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be fulfilled. Chinese Consul General Yu Boren, Kh. Ahmed Hasaan, MD Punjab Mass Transit Authority, MD NESPAK, DG LDA and concerned authorities were also present on the occasion.
Steering committee reviews progress on Theme Park project: Provincial Minister for Labour & Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that Theme Park project will not only provide recreational facilities of international standard but also generate job opportunities for local youth.
He was presiding over a steering committee meeting to review the progress on the matters relating to Theme Park to be built near Sagiyaan by a Chinese company.
Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Khawaja, Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Sumbal, Director Punjab Board of Investment & Trade Dr Sohail, DG PHA Mian Shakeel Ahmed, DCO Sheikhupura and officers of other concern departments attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that administrative and legal matters relating to Theme Park are being given final shape.
Raja Ashfaq directed concerned officers to immediately settle all matters including tax exemptions, acquiring of land for launching of this international recreational project at the earliest.
Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Khawaja directed the concerned PBIT officers to get assistance from Federal Board of Investment to finalize matters regarding tax exemptions and other duties.
He further directed to review the laws regarding taxes for foreign investment in the entertainment sector.
