Shujaat for highest award for lost star
 
 
 

LAHORE - Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani along with his wife Begum Fauzia Gilani and daughter Syeda Fizza Batool Gilani visited the residence of Arfa Karim’s parents on Sunday to condole her death.
Talking to the media on the occasion, the prime minister said that he and his family had been in telephonic contact with Arfa’s family when she was in hospital.
Paying homage to the world’s youngest Pakistani IT expert, the PM said that she had brought laurels to Pakistan. He said he had also approved a postal stamp of Arfa Karim that would help conveying a soft image of country abroad.
Arfa’s father Lt Col (Retd) Amjad Karim Randhawa told the prime minister that they had already formed Arfa Karim Foundation. Prime Minister Gilani assured her parents that the government would establish the Foundation or dedicate another well-established institution, where Arfa’s parents would promote the work of the young IT expert. To a question, he said, the government was also considering to confer a civil award to Arfa Karim.
Meanwhile, President PML-Q Ch Shujaat Hussain has urged Prime Minister Gilani to announce highest civil award Nishan-e-Imtiaz for world’s youngest IT wizard Arfa Kareem Randhawa.
Talking to the newsmen after offering fateha with the bereaved family here on Sunday, he said that Arfa Kareem was the daughter of the nation and everybody was proud over hear achievements at such a tender age. Mushahid Hussain Syed, Haleem Adil Sheikh and Mowahid Hussain were also present.  Paying tributes to the departed soul, Ch Shujaat Hussain said that child like Arfa born after centures and she was a source of pride for Pakistan. He said that losing Arfa so early was a matter of grief for the entire country. He said that he salutes the father of an intelligent and capable child who is now a role model for the youth. 
Meanwhile, Citizen Protection Committee (CPC) has described the demise of Arfa Karim, the world’s youngest computer genius, a colossal national loss.
Speaking at a condolence reference held here on Sunday, CPC Chairman Syed Zulfiqar Hussain said that being world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional, Arfa Karim had become the pride of the nation. He said she wanted to use her skills to help the young.
Other speakers including Javed Iqbal, Salman Riaz and Sana Badr also paid glowing tribute to Arfa Karim and said that she had become an iconic figure for Pakistani youths. They urged the government to take steps in line with the mission of Arfa Karim, especially in providing facilities to poor students of computer and IT in the country.
