LAHORE - Tehrik Hurmat Rasool (THR) and Jamatud Dawa have appealed to the nation to observe Friday (today) as a black day across the country to protest against the caricatures of Holy Prophet (PBUH) published recently by a French magazine.
According to a press release, rallies will be held in all important cities and Azad Kashmir. In Lahore, the biggest protest will be held at Chauburji Chowk.
THR Chairman Maulana Amir Hamza, Maulana Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, Hafiz Abdul Ghaffar Ropri, Maulana Ahmed Ali Kasuri, Maulana Amjad Khan, Amirul Azeem, Mirza Ayub Beg, Sheikh Naeem Badshah, Hafiz Muhammad Masood, Qari Muhammad Yousaf and Engr Muhammad Haris have appealed to the people to participate in the rallies in large numbers.
Khateebs will make the caricatures the subject of their Friday sermons. Protests against the caricatures continued in various cities even on Thursday. Speakers said those who published the condemnable caricatures must bear in mind that by doing so they were pushing the world towards destruction.
They said the United Nations and other world organizations should play their role to bring an end to what they called a war against Muslims and the Islamic world.
