Pakistan Day after 74 years

LAHORE  - The Pakistan Day will be celebrated on Sunday (today) across the country with traditional zeal to remember the Lahore Resolution, later renamed the Pakistan Resolution.
The day will dawn with special prayers, followed by a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals.
National flag will be hoisted on important public and private buildings throughout the country and all Pakistani missions abroad.
Political, cultural, social and government organisations are holding various programmes to mark the day.
In the provincial capital, the government functionaries and other dignitaries will visit the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal to pay homage to the great poet. The visiting people will lay wreath on the grave and offer fateha.
The newspapers will publish special supplements to highlight the importance of the day. Special meal and sweets will also be served to all inmates across the province on the occasion.
Pakistan Television, Radio Pakistan and private channels will air special programmes to highlight the significance of Pakistan Day and various aspects of the life and work of founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leading personalities.
Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) is holding revival of Nazaria-e-Pakistan rallies today across Pakistan as well as in AJK to mark the day with aim to forge a broad based alliance for the sake of for creating national cohesion by rising above sectarianism and to aware the people about the importance of the day.  A Nazaria-i-Pakistan march will start from Minar-e-Paksitan and will be culminated at Masjid-e-Shuhada, where the leaders will address the participants.
Meanwhile, various groups of lawyers announced support to JuD to promote the ideology. They assured it that they would participate in Pakistan March rally to be taken out from Minar-i-Pakistan to Majid Shuhada, The Mall in this regard on Sunday (today). The lawyers expressed these views during their meeting with JuD Ameer Prof Hafiz Muhammad Saeed when he was leading a rally at GPO Chowk on Saturday.
The bodies that supported the marc are Al-Dawa Lawyers Forum, Hurmat-i-Rasool Laywers Movement, Defa-i-Pakistan Lawyers Forum, Islamic Lawyers Forum, Realistic Lawyers Movement and Saadaat Lawyers.
CTO Lahore Chaudhary Sohail said that six DSPs, 23 traffic inspectors and 241 traffic wardens would perform duties on the day, adding the CTP had also made parking and other arrangements to ensure proper flow of traffic in the city. SP City and SP Sadar would monitor the arrangements, he said and added that CTP would also set up diversions on routes of various processions.
The CTP SP directed the circle officers to educate people to park their vehicles only in parking stands to avoid inconvenience and traffic mess on roads.
All educational institution—public and private—will also organize seminars and walks to mark the day. All the departments of Punjab University will celebrate Pakistan Day with zeal and zest and walks, seminars, quiz competitions, tableaus etc will be organized. Punjab University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology will organize walk at 9am at the institute to observer Pakistan Day and express solidarity with Pakistan Cricket team for T20 world cup. Funds will also be raised for the victims of Thar Parkar. Punjab University Pakistan Study Centre (PSC) will organize a seminar on “Significance of Pakistan Resolution” by Former Chairman of PU History Department Prof Ali Abbas at 10:30am at its auditorium while Center for Clinical Psychology (CCP) will also arrange special program on Pakistan Day. Similar demos will be arranged in other cities.
