Dengue devouring lives gradually

LAHORE - Another dengue patient died here at a local hospital on Saturday bringing the death numbers to 15. Besides this, 65 more new dengue cases were reported across the province including 40 in the provincial capital. The Punjab health department has confirmed the death of a dengue fever patient who was identified as Asad Ali of Chauburji Garden. He died due to dengue virus here at the Services Hospital, Lahore. While a spokesman of health department said during the last 24 hours, 22 more dengue fever patients have been admitted at different hospitals of the City and currently total 65 patients are under-treatment. The spokesman further said that two new patients of dengue fever in Rawalpindi and one patient in Multan has been reported, hence the total number of seven dengue fever patients are under-treatment in Rawalpindi and Multan. According to the details, nine new patients have been admitted in Mayo Hospital while 18 had been discharged and at present 19 patients are under treatment in this hospital. Similarly, 10 patients of dengue fever have been discharged from the Ganga Ram Hospital and at present 11 patients are under-treatment. Moreover, seven new cases have been brought to the Services Hospital while three patients have been discharged. Likewise, seven patients have been discharged from the Jinnah Hospital, whereas one new patient has been admitted in the hospital and at present 16 dengue patients are under-treatment in Jinnah Hospital. One new patient has been admitted in LGH while three patients have been discharged. One new patient has been admitted in the Children Hospital during the last 24 hours. Moreover, one new and two old patients are under-treatment in Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi. Similarly, two patients are under-treatment in Holy Family Hospital. Similarly two patients in Benazir Bhutto hospital and one in DHQ Hospital Rawalpindi are under-treatment while one patient is in Nishtar Hospital Multan. During the last 24 hours, 42 patients have been found dengue virus positive in the laboratory of IPH, Lahore.
