LAHORE - Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Kh Salman Rafiq has said that THQ/DHQ hospitals of the province will be provided with medical equipment and staff under Chief Minister’s Health Reforms Programme.
Chairing a meeting to evaluate the needs of THQ/DHQ hospitals in Jhang and Faisalabad districts on Wednesday, he said that all necessary steps would be taken for upgradation of the hospitals.
Secretary Health Jawad Rafiq Malik, DG Health Dr Zahid Pervaiz, Deputy Secretary Budget and Accounts Sarfraz Ahmad, Planning Principal Punjab Medical College Faisalabad Prof Zahid Hashmi, EDO Health Faisalabad Dr Rana Waqar, MPAs Khalid Saeed, Nawaz Malik, Dr Najma Afzal Khan, Rashida Yaqub, EDO Health Jhang and Medical superintendents of concerned hospitals attended the meeting. Salman said that he would personally supervise the progress so that best treatment facilities could be provided to the people of areas at their doorsteps.
The meeting decided to handover the administrative control of Ghulam Muhammadabad and Samanabad hospitals to Punjab Medical College Faisalabad. It would provide the opportunity of consultancy of specialist doctors to the patients of these hospitals.
The meeting was informed that the medical equipment for burn unit Faisalabad had reached and installation would start soon. The meeting discussed the plan of establishing kidney center in Faisalabad, extension in the infrastructure of DHQ Hospital Faisalabad, establishment of Breast Clinic in Faisalabad.
Similarly, the matter of upgradation of DHQ hospital Jhang was also discussed. It was decided that new ambulances, dialysis machines and X-Ray machines would be provided to the government hospital. Moreover, seats in nursing school Jhang would also be enhanced.
