Two women die in jeep-car crash

LAHORE
Two women died while three other family members were seriously injured in a road accident in south cantonment area, police said Monday.
Eyewitnesses told the police that the rashly-driven jeep smashed into the car at Shami Road. As a result, Sana, 25, Rakhshanda, 24, Ahmed, 13, Hina, 8, and Haider, 7, sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to a hospital, where both the women succumbed to their injuries. The jeep driver managed to flee the crime scene with the vehicle. The area police have initiated investigation.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old motorcyclist was crushed to death by a recklessly-driven bus on Ravi Road. Police said that Muhammad Tayyab, father of two, was on his way home in Ferozewala when the bus hit his motorcycle near Azadi interchange. Resultantly, Tayyab died on the spot while the bus driver fled the scene. A case has been registered with the police and investigations are underway.
