LAHORE - An inquest began after a woman and her daughter were murdered in Johar Town late Tuesday. Kanwal, 32, and her daughter Tayyaba, 11, were lying tortured to death in separate bedrooms as investigators entered their house at A-I Block of Johar Town. Bank employee Javed, who contracted the second marriage with Kanwal, told the police he visited his house late on Tuesday night and found his wife and daughter murdered. The main gate was locked and the cell phones of deceased were switched off, he said adding that he entered the house with the help of neighbours. Investigators said both were strangled and the bodies bore torture marks,There were torture marks on the body parts of the women which indicated that they offered resistance against the assault. A police investigator who visited the crime scene said that feet of the young girl were tied with a rope and a bottle filled with some chemical mixture was also lying next to the bodies. The forensic experts also visited the crime scene and collected fingerprints and evidence. The police handed over the bodies to the family after the autopsy. A double-murder case has been registered against unidentified killers on the complaint of husband of the deceased.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
