Pak envoy to Australia meets CM



LAHORE: Pakistani High Commissioner designate to Australia, Naila Chohan on Saturday called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and discussed the matters of mutual interest and promotion of Pak-Australia relations.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan gave great importance to the relations with Australia and there was a need to further promote the trade cooperation between the two countries. He said that Punjab was a big market for livestock and Halal food. He said that Australian investors could invest in Halal food industry.–Staff Reporter
The chief minister said that the national economy could be strengthened on sound footings through promotion of livestock and agriculture. He said that livestock and agriculture sectors were of vital importance in the economy. He said that unemployment and poverty could be reduced by promoting both these sectors.
Sharif said that the Punjab government had evolved an effective strategy for the promotion of livestock in the province.
The CM said that Pakistani High Commissioner designate to Australia should play her due role for motivating Australian companies to invest in Halal food. Naila Chohan said that she would play her effective role for enhancing image of the country in Australia and improving trade relations between both the countries. Secretary Livestock and Secretary Agriculture were also present on the occasion.–Staff reporter
