LAHORE - Large number of families participated in the ‘Festival of Life’ arranged at Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre for raising funds for construction of Hospital in Peshawar. Over Rs 2 million was collected in one day event. The management postponed auction of cricket ball signed by Imran Khan and bat carrying signatures of entire cricket team. Ayesha Sana hosted the event attended by cricketer Wahab Riaz, captain hockey team Muhammad Imran, singer Shiraz Uppal, chief executive SKMCH&RC Dr Faisal Sultan and medical director Dr Asim Yousaf. Various companies arranged food stalls, organised magic shows and other events relating to interests of kids. Addressing the ceremony, Dr Asim Yousaf said that there was a need of establishing a centre in Peshawar as a large number of patients, majority of them children, were coming to Lahore from Khyber PK for treatment of cancer. He urged philanthropist to donate generously for facilitating cancer patients in far flung areas of Khyber PK.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
