Rain falls


LAHORE – Parts of the province including the City received rainfall of varying intensities on Saturday, making weather pleasant by causing considerable decrease in the mercury level.
In Lahore, rains, overcast conditions and windstorm made weather pleasant by decreasing temperature at nighttime.
The rains disturbed normal routine life as rainwater inundated on portions of roads and roadsides. Inundated rainwater on portions of roads and slippery conditions caused massive traffic jams in every nook and corner of the City. Several incidents of skidding of motorcycles were also reported from various parts of the City.
Maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 30 degree Celsius and 17 C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 51 per cent.
People come out of their houses in the evening to enjoy wet conditions. Major parks and picnic spots attracted a large number of people including women and children in the evening.
Huge rush was witnessed at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Gulshan Park, Jillani Park, Jallo Park, Lahore Zoo and other picnic spots in the City. Massive traffic jams were witnessed on roads in the close vicinity of these parks.
According to the experts, western disturbance is affecting upper and central parts of the country and would persist till today (Sunday).
Local meteorological department has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of rains for the City during the next 24 hours.
Met office has forecast widespread rain-thunderstorm for Khyber PK, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore and Sahiwal divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
 Isolated heavy falls and hailstorm is also expected in Bannu, Kohat, Peshawar, Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Sargodha divisions and Kashmir.
