LAHORE - Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, in an impressive ceremony held at Governor’s House here on Sunday, to mark the Pakistan Day, conferred civil awards on 20 personalities owing to their remarkable services in various fields.
Those who received awards had rendered remarkable services in the field of education, health, journalism, science, art and literature. The Governor awarded 3 Sitara-e-Imtiaz to VC Gujrat University Muhammad Nizamud Din, prominent journalist Ashiq Chaudhry, and poet/writer late Shahzad Ahmad whose award was received by his wife. He also awarded 11 Presidential awards to Dr Hamid Salim, Dr Arif Chaudhry, Hassan Shah Nawaz Zaidi, Sohail Chaudhry, Aurangzaib Leghari, Dr Tabassum Kashmiri, Dr Yunus Javed, Azhar Jafri, Syed Irshad Hussain, Khalid Ahmad and Zeeshan Abbasi. Chaudhry Sarwar also distributed 6 Tamgha-e-Imtiaz awards to Dr Fozia Yusuf, Mian Ghulam Ahmad, Waseem Ahmad, Ghulam Muhammad Naz, Prof Dr Abdul Tawwab Khan and DG LDA Ahad Cheema.
