LAHORE - PPP’s Lahore office bearers on Saturday asked PTI chief Imran Khan’s wife Reham Khan as to why she had not filed her income tax return despite having a National Tax Number (NTN).  
Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club, PPP’s Lahore Secretary Information Faisal Mir and Deputy Secretary Khurrum Farooq said that it was required under the law to file an income tax return after getting NTN number.
Faisal Mir told reporters that Reham got her NTN number (4385201-7) on April 21, 2015 only after receiving a notice from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). “Her name on the NTN number is Reham Rehman which also appears on her national identity card bearing the number -13101-1902078-8”, he added.  
He further alleged that she had misstated in the FBR form she filled up to get the NTN number that she was a house lady; whereas, as a matter of fact, she is and had been an Anchor person on various news channels. Faisal further stated that in her TV talk shows Reham had been lecturing the nation on the need to promote tax culture in the country, but she herself ignored to file her tax return which was a violation of section 114 of the Income Tax Ordinance.
Khurrum Farooq said that Reham should tell the people whether or not she had paid the fine to the FBR for not filing the income tax return.  
Faisal Mir later told this scribe that it was mandatory under the law to file an income tax return even if the tax was being deducted at source by the employer.
