Pindi to be focused for dengue control

LAHORE - Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Kh Salman Rafiq has said that Rawalpindi will be focused for dengue control.

Chairing a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Dengue at S&GAD committee room yesterday, he asked senior officers of relevant departments to personally visit the city to evaluate anti-dengue activities.

Elected representatives, Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Najam Ahmad Shah, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan, Director General Health Dr Mukhtar Hussain Syed, DCO Sheikhupura and senior officers of concerned departments attended the meeting.  Commissioners of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Faisalabad participated in the meeting through video link.

Additional Director General Health Dengue Control Dr Fayyaz Butt briefed the meeting regarding indoor and outdoor surveillance activities.

EDO Health Lahore briefed about the anti-dengue activities in the city whereas commissioners and EDOs Health Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Faisalabad apprised the meeting of vector surveillance activities in their respective areas.

The officers of Punjab Information Technology Board and Special Branch pointed out gaps at operational level.
