Cops suspect inside hand as mother, daughter killed

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A 55-year-old woman and her daughter were brutally killed by armed bandits during a dacoity attempt at Jhugian Nagra in Nawankot police precincts on Sunday, a family member said. The deceased were identified as Afzal Bibi and her 21-year-old daughter Nighat Parveen. The criminal(s) tried their best to colour the incident as dacoity-cum-murders, but a few evidences have revealed some different aspects of the incident. Afzal Bibis husband Nawaz Ahmed, a shopkeeper, was sleeping in the upper floor of the building while his wife and their daughter were asleep in the ground floor. I saw the bodies lying in a pool of blood when I awoke early in the morning, he told the police. Police said four tolas of gold ornaments, cash, two cell phones and some other valuables went missing, which reveal the women were killed by dacoits. Police investigators said they had collected a few evidences, indicating that the ladies were killed by relatives, most probably someone in the family, over an old enmity. A case has been lodged against unidentified accused with no arrest till filing of this report. Further investigations are underway. tortured: A kiosk owner along with his two sons tortured a telephone operator of Rescue 1122 on the outskirts of the regional office of the Emergency Service at Moon Market in Iqbal Town police limits. The victim later identified Anwar Ali stopped the owner of kiosk namely Arif Siddique and his sons Ali Shan and Ghulam Mustafa to avoid placing chairs in front of the Emergency Office. Yes, this is the actual story. The accused started kicking and slapping him when he stopped them doing so, an eyewitness said. Later, the victim was shifted to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated stable till filing of this report. Police have lodged an FIR against the accused with no arrest so far. Protest: Heirs to a woman, who was killed by her neighbours four days back, blocked the main Ferozepur Road and staged a protest demonstration against Ichra police. They alleged that the police concerned were using delaying tactics in arresting the accused. Noor Bibi of Sardarpura was killed by three accused namely Muhammad Ali, Tahir and Siddique. On which, police had lodged a case against them. After the lapse of three days, police have not carried out any raid for the arrest of killers, a protestor said. Later, high ups of traffic police and district police arrived on the scene and dispersed them assuring the killers would be arrested soon.
