CS summoned in contempt plea







LAHORE – The Lahore High Court Chief Justice on Tuesday sought appearance of Punjab Chief Secretary and Irrigation Department Secretary for not complying the court’s orders.
Petitioner, Sultan Ahamd, senior research officer at irrigation department, through his counsel Khalid Ismaail had filed the contempt petition submitting that the LHC on April 6 had ordered the department to forward the petitioner’s case to the chief secretary within four days for consideration PSB (Provincial Selection Board) of promotion to grade-19. Despite the lapse of two weeks, the irrigation department did not forward his case to the chief secretary, the petitioner added.
He requested the court for directions to the respondents to consider his case, and also proceed against them for defying the court orders.
After recording initial arguments, the court summoned the secretary irrigation and chief secretary on April 30.
