LAHORE – Police security has been intensified with additional deployment of more than 5600 policemen across the city to provide foolproof protection to the Christian community on the eve of Christmas.
Police sources said that on the directions of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen special police personnel were deployed around 497 Churches located in different parts of the provincial metropolis.
DIG (Operations) Muhammad Tahir Rai has also ordered the Elite Police Force to ensure round-the-clock patrolling in the sensitive areas to thwart any possible terror attempt while trained snipers to be deployed at the rooftop of multi-storey buildings situated around the churches.
Mobile police squads are also put on high-alert to ensure foolproof security in the City, where the Christian community is celebrating the Christmas on Tuesday (today).
