Deaths: corrective measures on


LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday warned of stern action against the persons guilty in the issue of deadly medicines of Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
While talking to the media persons at Jinnah Hospital after enquiring after the health of the patients who used the spurious medicines, the chief minister said measures were being taken on emergent basis for controlling the situation created by reaction of the medicines of PIC and the matter was being thoroughly probed. He said stern action would be taken in the light of inquiry against anyone found guilty of negligence or dereliction.
Accompanied by MPA Khawaja Salman Rafique, Dr Saeed Elahi and Principal Prof Dr Javed Akram, the CM said he had met the affected patients at Jinnah Hospital who were being provided best treatment facilities and were fast recovering. He said immediately on return from Germany, he convened a meeting to review the situation and a number of decisions were taken to cope with the situation. He said provision of best treatment facilities to the patients was being ensured and special wards had been reserved in hospitals where doctors were looking after the patients with commitment and dedication. He said Services Hospital Medical Superintendent had been made OSD due to poor performance.
Later, the infected patients and their attendants at the Jinnah Hospital praised the chief minister. They said when Punjab was hit by the worst attack of dengue, the CM remained engaged in the service to the ailing humanity.
funeral:  Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif attended the funeral prayer of Squadron Leader Chaudhry Masood Hussain, who was martyred in an air crash in Turkey.
The funeral prayer of the Shaheed was offered at the Old Terminal and attended by Ambassador of Turkey in Pakistan Mustafa Hizlan as well as a large number of officers and Jawans of Turk and Pak Army. Squadron Leader Chaudhry Masood Hussain was deputed for training in Turkey where he met an accident. He was brother of former MPA from Okara, Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain Chachar.
Shahbaz Sharif, Turk Ambassador and senior officers of Pakistan Air Force also laid wreaths at the body of the Shaheed.
