RAWALPINDI At least six persons sustained bullet injuries when an assailant opened indiscriminate fire at the district courts premises here on Saturday. The injured persons included three policemen, an under trial prisoner, Khan Nawaz and two pedestrians Muhammad Siddique and Shernawaz. All the injured persons admitted in the hospital, who were stated to be in the stable condition. According to the details, the accused Babar Khan opened fire when four policemen including Muhammad Afzal, Constables Shahid Mehmood, Muhammad Aslam and Saqib brought two prisoners, Khan Nawaz and Muhammad Atif in the court of Additional District and Sessions (ADS) Judge Muhammad Iqbal. Both the prisoners were facing charges of murder and currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail. In the firing incident, under trial prisoner Khan Nawaz sustained bullet injuries but now he is stated in a stable condition in the hospital. However, other prisoner Muhammad Atif remained unhurt in the incident. But the police succeeded to nab the accused Baba Khan, who belongs to Gilgit and is believed to be contract killer.
