Tributes to Sabri keep pouring in

LAHORE - Lahore Art Council Board of Directors Chairman Kamran Lashari and executive director captain (r) Atta Muhammad Khan said that renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri was the pride of Pakistan and he was the ambassador of peace.  They said that Amjad Sabri revitalised the dying art of qawwali through his unique style and was the role model for the young generation. Qawwal community also strongly condemned the killing of Amhad Sabri. Ustad Mehar Ali Khand and Ustad Sher Ali Khan of Faridi Qawwal Party hailing from Faisalabad said that they received the news of assassination of Amjad Bhai in Amritsar as they were on India tour.  They said they condemned the untimely demise of Amjad Sabri who was the son of great Qawwal. They asked government to provide the security to artists who promoted message of peace. “Amjad Sabri only spread love, harmony and patriotism through his message,” Sher Ali Khan said.
