LAHORE - The Federally Administered Tribal Area (Fata) has decided to replicate Punjab’s Smart School Monitoring System in their schools.
The Education Component Leader of Fata Development Program (FDA) Fayyaz Ali Khan and his aide Muhammad Tahir visited the Punjab IT Board (PITB) on Thursday where Chairman Umar Saif briefed him on the development and implementation of the system.
Dr Saif said “Punjab leads in providing public access to the monitoring data of 53000 public schools a few months ago so that the parents may also monitor the working of schools and the teachers while sitting in their home.
The system has yielded remarkable results that show that the attendance of the teachers and students has been increased manifold as compared to the past.”
Inspired by the ICT interventions used to boost up the education sector, the team requested Dr Umar Saif to replicate the smartphone-based monitoring program of Punjab in the Fata.
Fayyaz Ali Khan said that PITB had phenomenally incorporated technological interventions that have helped improve governance techniques in Punjab. He hoped that the tech-assistance from PITB would not only upgrade surveillance methods but also help collect data on learning outcomes in Fata.
Dr Saif assured him to extend all assistance and cooperation in this regard.
