Court reinstates three PCB employees

LAHORE - Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi of Lahore High Court on Monday suspended termination orders of three officials of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and ordered their reinstatement. The officials included Col (retd) Muhammad Pervaiz, GM Administration, Major (retd) Javed Arshad Khan, Manager Estate and Recoveries and Major (retd) Ahmad Anwar, Manager Cricket Operations. The judge restored the petitioners-officials while accepting their civil miscellaneous applications and admitted their main petitions for regular hearing. These petitions would be heard along with an already pending petition of a former test cricketer Saleem Altaf challenging his removal as director special projects PCB.The petitioners submitted that they had been working with PCB on contract and performing their duties with full devotion and honesty. They said the Board authorities headed by former chairman Dr. Nasim Ashraf without issuing any show cause notice or holding any inquiry issued their termination orders. They alleged that they were sacked on political grounds and being victimised without any reason. Petitioners prayed to the court to set aside their termination orders while declaring null and void and direct the PCB to restore them.
