LAHORE - Four factions of the Muslim League have been united under the umbrella of Muthidda Muslim League (MML), while efforts to bring the remaining factions in the fold would continue, said Secretary General PML-Q (Like-Minded Group) Hamayun Akhtar Khan. He expressed these views while talking to the media at the residence of PML-Qs secretary general, Syed Mushahid Hussain after condoling with him over the sad demise of his mother on Wednesday. To a query, Hamayun said PML-Q chief, Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain met with PML-F head, Pir of Pagaro sometime back and merged his party but later, he backtracked from his pledge and started talks for adjustments with the PPP, as Dr Babar Awan met with Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi. He said Chaudhary Shujaat should clear his position regarding his political alignments. Replying to another question, he claimed that Senator Haroon Akhtar Khan was the only politician who opposed the RGST and submitted various proposals to the government in this regard, while no allied party of the government was against the RGST. Responding to yet another question, he said Pervez Musharraf should answer questions regarding the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, as he was the president of the country at the time of assassination of PPP chairperson. Hamayun Akhtar along with other leaders of Like-Minded and MML including Hamid Nasir Chattha, Senator Salim Saif Ullah and Kashmala Tariq met with Syed Mushahid Hussain and expressed their deep grief sorrow and grief over the sad demise of PML-Q leaders mother. They prayed that may Almighty Allah give the courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss. Chief of Hazara Tehrik, Baba Haider Zaman had also accompanied leaders of Like-Minded on this occasion. Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed also met with Syed Mushahid Hussain and expressed his deepest condolence over the sad demise of the PML-Q leaders mother.
