LAHORE - Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan has called on the parties in the ruling alliance to review their priorities and serve Pakistan instead of President Asif Zardari. Talking to newsmen at a walima reception here at Mansoora on Sunday, he said that corruption and commission mafia were being protected and the parties posing to be democratic were negating the norms and justice. Former JI chief Qazi Husain Ahmed and other senior party leaders were also present. The JI chief said that the Muslims masses had been struggling against their rulers who were slaves. He said the Muslims were being branded as terrorists and their blood was shed while over 57 Muslim governments and their armies were not only silent but were supporting the enemy. The non-Muslims were using the resources of the Muslim countries, he said. He said, under these circumstances, the unarmed masses in Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan had faced the colonial powers and defeated them. In Afghanistan, the enemy was begging for dialogue and withdrawal of the NATO and US troops from July 2011 was under consideration. He said a military operation in North Waziristan under the US pressure would be a victory for the US and India as the situation in the country would get out of control. He slated Islamabads silence on Kashmir issue. The Kashmiris, he said, were fighting Pakistans war but the government had stopped even their moral and diplomatic support and had thus surrendered its lifeline. Opposing the US mediation on the Kashmir issue, he said, Washington had always been pro-India and it had already signed a nuclear pact with New Delhi but was objecting to Pak-China civil nuclear agreement.
