Canadian HC commends Qadris anti-terrorism role

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Canadian Higher Commissioner in Pakistan Ross Hynes on Monday called on Minhajul Quran Secretary General Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi. The meeting took place at the partys central secretariat. Second Secretary for Political Affairs Andrewng accompanied the High Commissioner. Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Raja Jamil Ajmal, G M Malik, Brig (R) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Brig (r ) Dr Obaidullah Ranjha, and Qazi Faizul Islam were also present on the occasion. Ross Hyness appreciated the services of Dr Muhammad Tahirul Qadri for the cause of global peace, interfaith harmony, elimination of terrorism, extremism, attitudes of intolerance and immoderation. He said that the world community held his contributions in high esteem. The struggle of MQI for the establishment of global peace would surely prove to be milestone, he added. He said that the consultative status conferred on MQI by ECOSO, a UN body, represented an acknowledgment of its multidimensional efforts for peace and interfaith harmony in the world. He visited various directorates and departments of MQI. Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi briefed the guests about the working of these directorates. He said that majority of the Muslims were peace-loving.
