LAHORE - Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch has said that President Zardaris current foreign trip for funds was damaging Pakistans image abroad. The Presidents foreign trips with an army of ministers and his demand for money was an insult for the country and its people, he said in a press statement issued here Thursday. Baloch also condemned the detention of Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, terming it an attempt to please the US and India, and demanded his immediate release. He said the US war on terror was in fact a war against Islam. Because of this war, Pakistan has been compelled to borrow from other countries and its economy has suffered. On the other hand, the countrys sovereignty and existence has been put at stake. The US aid was detrimental to the countrys independence and sovereignty. The US aid, he said could be instrumental in damaging the countrys nuclear capability and strengthening Blackwater. Liaquat Baloch described US President Obamas address to the UN Security Council a masterpiece of hypocrisy. He said on one hand, President Obama expressed desire for promote inter faith understanding in the interest of world peace and security while on the other he has unleashed a crusade against the Muslims in the name of war on terror. This duality of the US foreign policy has intensified terrorism in the world and ended world peace. The infidels all over the world are targeting the Muslims. India was instigating terrorism in this country from Afghanistan. He said even US Commander in Afghanistan General Stanley Mac Crystal has taken note of the increasing Indian influence in Afghanistan and warned that it might destabilize the region. He also expressed concern over US vice presidents statement suggesting that US Commandoes should concentrate on targeting Al Qaida centers in Baluchistan and said this suggested that US commandoes were already present in the country although Interior Minister Rehman Malik was denying that. These commandoes may be the Blackwater terrorists, he said.
