LAHORE - The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has notified schedule of annual professional examinations of MBBS and BDS for its affiliated medical and dental colleges. This schedule will be applicable on 33 medical and 11 dental colleges in both public and private sector affiliated with UHS.
According to the notification, first professional MBBS part I annual examinations 2014 will continue from October 13 to October 20, first professional part II from October 22 to October 30, second professional from November 10 to November 20, third professional from November 24 to December 06, and final professional MBBS annual examination will commence on December 02 and end on December 27.
Similarly, first professional BDS annual examinations 2014 will continue from November 11 to November 25, second professional from October 14 to October 27, third professional from November 15 to November 29 whereas final professional BDS annual examinations will continue from December 03 to December 12.
Meanwhile, PGMI Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra constituted Regional Surveillance and Epidemic Response Committee for Ameer-ud-Din Medical College and Lahore General Hospital.
The purpose of the committee is to research and explore the ways to prevent and avoid epidemics ahead of their break out. The committee comprises Prof Ehtisham-ud-Din, Prof Ghias-un-Nabi Tayyab, Prof Agha Shibir Ali and Dr Asghar Magsi.
The committee has been given the task to finalize comprehensive strategy for controlling dengue and other diseases.
Prof Vohra said that the committee would prepare recommendations that would be implemented in view of forecasting and planning. The given strategy would also be helpful to minimise the loss of human lives in case of spread of any epidemic.
