The Hospital total budget now is about Rs 3.2 billion per annum while its total deficit stands at Rs 1.6 billion. SKMCH&RC Chairman and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan revealed these details while addressing a fund-raising ceremony for the Hospital and the Namal College, Mianwali here on Sunday. Imran stated that the SKMCH&RC was enhancing its capacity by adding two more in-patient units, which would almost double the existing in-patient bed capacity of the Hospital. He maintained that the Hospitals Diagnostic Centres and Collection Centres functioning across the county as well as the plan to establish two cancer treatment hospitals in Karachi and Peshawar were a tangible evidence of their commitment to the people of Pakistan. He added that the SKMCH&RC was determined to expand its umbrella to the whole country. He said that the Namal College, Mianwali would be converted into a knowledge city for which 500 acres land adjacent to it had already been acquired. He informed that this land was donated by the poor people of the area. He further said that Pakistan lacked quality education institutes, adding that the College was working wonders in the field of education, which was evident from the comments passed by the inspection team of Bredford University, UK. Earlier, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Namal College, SKMCH&RC and the Muslim Commercial Bank. Later, the participants of the ceremony gave donations for the Hospital.
