LAHORE - Another flight carrying a batch of 250 Pakistan army troops have left on United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Congo, an army spokesman said on Saturday. Brigadier Shahid Manzoor bade farewell to the troops at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
These troops will replace the already deployed Pakistan army contingents in the war-torn country as part of relieve and rotation schedule.
Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Shahid Manzoor said the blue berets of Pak-Army have rendered dedicated services for restoring peace all over the globe.
Stressing that they were representing Pakistan on a noble assignment abroad, the brigadier urged the troops to maintain the exemplary traditions of army.
Pakistani peacekeepers are serving in war-ravaged Congo since last decade. The Pakistani contingents, as part of the UN PeaceKeeping force in Congo, have earned acclaim for successfully restoring secure and stable environments in the strife-torn country.
