Police clamp down on PPP rally

LAHORE - Police on Sunday arrested several persons from the Pakistan People's Party rally in Lahore for violating Loudspeakers Act.
Scores of PPP workers were rallying in Bagarian, area of Lahore, against terrorism and using loudspeakers to deliver their speeches to condemn terrorism. However, police reached the spot, confiscated loudspeakers and arrested several persons for violating the Act.
The PPP was staging a rally against terrorism while their activists also burned effigies of terrorists during the protest.
As soon the police launched a clampdown, the PPP workers chanted slogans against the PML-N government and police. They also chanted 'Go Nawaz Go' when police manhandled them.
