Countrywide rallies blast Israeli atrocities

LAHORE - Different religious and religio-political parties observed Friday as day of solidarity with the Palestinian people and took out rallies and held protests to condemn the brutalities of Israel.
Jamaat e Islami observed Youm-e-Azm (Day of resolve) across the country in order to show solidarity with the Palestinians against Israeli aggression.
Protest rallies were held in the Federal capital, the four provincial capitals besides Muzaffarabad against Israeli strikes that have killed more than 700 innocent Palestinians during the last two weeks.
The demonstrators also denounced the silence of the Muslim world and the UN on the massacre of the Palestinian women and children.
JI chief Sirajul Haq while addressing a big rally here near Mansoora called upon the UN to declare Israel a terrorist State for carrying out the carnage of the Palestinians.
He also demanded that the UN membership of the Zionist State be cancelled for rejecting more than 70 UN resolutions for peace. The JI chief called upon the OIC to convene a meeting of the Muslim rulers and announce Jehad against Israel.
He stressed that a joint Army of the Muslim world be formed for the defence of Palestine.
He reiterated his demand to the Arab world to pull out its wealth from the US banks and use petrol as weapon emulating late King Faisal’s example, in order to compel the West review its anti Islam attitude.  He said that the Muslim world could not give up its demand for the independence of the Baitul Maqdis which had its importance in the Islamic history.   The JI chief said he had tried to contact Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by telephone but was informed that PM was abroad. He said, whenever, the country was facing difficult time, Nawaz Sharif left the country. He said that the PM should have taken a courageous stance against Israel at this moment as representative of nuclear Pakistan.
He said the government decision to observe day of mourning in sympathy with the oppressed Palestinians was appreciable, but the nation wanted to know how long nuclear Pakistan would remain indifferent on such a sensitive issue. It is a pity, he said that the rulers did not have the courage to raise voice against the US or the Israeli aggression.
He said that the Pakistani nation stood with the Palestinian brethren to the last drop of their blood and could not yield to the fascism of the Zionist state.  JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch, JI Foreign Affairs chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz,
JI deputy chief Hafiz Muhammad Idrees and others also addressed.    Jaamat-ud-Dawa also organised rallies to show solidarity with the Palestinians across the country.  Leading a protest rally at Chuburji after Friday prayers, JuD chief Hafiz Saeed called upon the Muslim community to break silence and get united to save the innocent people and children of Gaza.  “Jehad has become compulsory for every Muslim in the wake of mounting toll of innocent Muslims in Gaza,” he said.
He said that US, Israel and India were the biggest enemies of Muslims and they had secret agreements to destroy Pakistan’s nuclear programme.
He said that Muslim world should also provide financial assistance to Palestine.
He laid a stress on people to join hands with JuD to provide food and other necessary assistance to the people of Gaza who were facing severe food crisis even in the month of Ramazan.
JuD leaders Maulana Amir Hamza, Maulana Saifullah Khalid, Lahore Bar former Secretary Abdul Latif, Maulana Abu Hashim, Maulana Muhammad Idress Farooqi, Ehsan Elahi, Bilal Ahmed Cheema and others also addressed the protest rally.
Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen and Imamia Students Organisation observed Friday as Youm-ul-Quds. Both the organisations took out rallies at 2300 places across the country. 
In the provincial metropolis, a big rally started from Islampura and culminated on The Mall in front of the Punjab Assembly.  The rally was participated by women and children also. The protesters were holding placards and banners in their hands and were chanting slogans against tyranny of Israel against innocent Palestinians.  Pakistan Ulema Council also observed Friday as Palestine Solidarity Day across the country.  Addressing the participants of the protest in front of Jamia Masjid Khulfaey Rashideen, PUC Chairman Hafiz Tahir Asharafi said that the Muslim world were facing crisis all over the world but the rulers were silent on issues.
