LAHORE - SAQIB ALI SAJID - The Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Monday taking notice of a University of Engineering and Technology faculty member’s fake degree case has ordered the authorities to take action against the fake degree holders among the university staff.
Institute of Business and Management (IBM) Deputy Director Dr Rozina Mustafa, alleged blue eyed of the Institute Director Ali Sajid had been teaching at IBM since January 2010 with a fake MBA degree.
She also had worked as Project Director at HEC previously. The Director instead of taking any action against the accused was trying to save her, the sources revealed to Waqt News.
As per the details, Dr Rozina did her MBA from National College of Textile and Management (NCTM) Faisalabad in 1999 with specialisation in ISO 9000.
NCTM claims its affiliation with Kings University USA.
There are many complications in the female professor’s credentials regarding her courses, specialisation, signatures of the authorities, university logo and dates of issue etc. Moreover, the main campus of the college was situated at Faisalabad where as the name of sub-campus of the college had been mentioned on the degree that lacked existence.
The signatures for the controller of examination and registrar were made by the same persons that went against the common practice as normally different persons worked on such top slots. The transcript also fails to provide any detail of the 400 marks specialisation the woman professor did.
It is also learnt that by using her position at HEC, she did her PhD from Austria. She herself got her degrees checked for the commission and succeeded getting admission in a foreign university.
IBM Director setting aside all the rules recommended her leave with full pay. The same director is in action to clear the fake degree holder, sources said.
It is to be noted that the IBM wrote a letter to HEC on Dr Rozina’s fake degree issue. The HEC in reply wrote that the institutions both at home and abroad, from which Dr Rozina got education, were not registered with it, adding, neither the degrees issued by such institutions were valid nor any kind of employment could be got in public sector institutions on the basis of such certificates.
Dr Rozina, who happens to be absent from faculty rolls these days, refused to comment on her fake degree case while her husband said that when her wife got MBA degree the HEC was not established then. IBM Director was not available for comments on the issue.
