LAHORE  -  Acting as a shield, the lawyers helped a suspect of fraud to successfully escape from the possible arrest by FIA after his bail was rejected here on Wednesday.
Rafiq, the suspect, was an employee at a Rice Mill and allegedly stole bank cheques of his employer. The suspect had withdrawn Rs3 million from the account of the employer. The mill owner had got a case registered against the suspect with FIA. The suspect had also got a case lodged against his owner.
Both had filed their bail petitions.
The suspect could not convince the court that rejected his bail. The court, however, accepted the bail of mill owner. When the suspect came out of the courtroom, his counsel protected him from the possible arrest by FIA and helped him run away from the courts’ premises.
