LAHORE PML-N spokesman Senator Pervez Rashid has said that the Supreme Court decision will go a long way to purge corruption in politics. Welcoming the SC decision of dismissing the plea wherein the government has sought review of the previous decision against the NRO, Pervez Rashid reminded that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif himself had moved the Court against the NRO taking a principle stand that this law was tantamount to exonerating big fishes in corruption cases and nabbing the persons of petty offence. He said the SC verdict is the victory of law and justice and the PML-N will strongly seek its implementation in letter and spirit. Recalling the PML-N long march for the restoration of independent judiciary, parliamentary struggle against the rental power plants, and ouster of Musharraf from power, he said, on the same line his party will ensure implementation of the decision on NRO. He asked the governmental authorities to play their part to carry out the SC verdict and added that they did hold not anybody guilty but want respect to the judicial verdicts and supremacy of the law. Pervez Rashid said an expeditious accountability will end corruption and the present decision would largely help achieve this end. If the NRO decision is fully implemented, it will close the chapter of protecting the people of privileged class and punishing the weaker. He said the influential ones by the dint of the power, believe themselves above the law and act in league to loot the national wealth and practice corruption with impunity.
