Khan wants Jinnah’s Pakistan

LAHORE - Imran Khan yesterday said that it might be better not to have a Pakistan which does not reflect the vision of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal and hostage held by 500 families.
He was addressing party’s youth convention at a local hotel.
“Pakistan is facing the same difficulties which are identified by Abul Kalam Azad. We may differ with Mahatama Gandhi, Mufti Mehmood and Ghaffar Khan who opposed creation of Pakistan but they were great leaders,” Khan added.
He termed the youth as the backbone of his party and said PTI derives main strength from its youth to amass more political strength. He advised party’s youth to strictly follow the party discipline.
“PTI has coined the slogan of new Pakistan and it will transform the existing Pakistan into a changed one with the efforts of party’s youth,” said Khan.
It is highly alarming that educated and talented youth leaving Pakistan for better opportunities abroad but in a transformed Pakistan in the leadership of PTI, will create ample opportunities for them in the country, he claimed.
“There are 500 families which have made hostage the entire nation and this is not the Pakistan envisioned by Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal. PTI will free the country from the clutches of 500 and transform into an Islamic welfare state,” he added.
The PTI is alleged by its opponents for practicing street politics but what should be the action of a political party when it fails to get justice by following proper channels, Khan questioned.
“It is because of our 126-day long sit-in which forced the government for the first time in the political history of the country to form judicial commission for vote probe,” he said.
The PTI chief claimed the incumbent government has failed to provide basic facilities of health, education, employment and justice to the masses, besides protecting the rights of the labourers.
“Punjab and Sindh Police are being used for political purposes but the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government has made the police free of political interference,” Khan maintained.
“We will hold fresh intra-party polls taking lessons from the past mistakes and this time we will do it right,” he claimed.
