LAHORE Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan will address a public meeting at Sialkot today (Friday) in connection with the JIs count-rywide protest against the lynching to death of two brothers in the presence of the police. He will lead Juma prayers at the Sublime Sportss mosque and visit the residence of the unfortunate victims, Hafiz Mughees Ahmed and Muneeb Ahmed, to offer his condolences with the bereaved family. Later, he will address the public meeting at Allama Iqbal Chowk at 2:30 pm. JI secretary general, Lia-quat Baloch will lead the rally at Sargodha, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha in Lahore and JI Karachi chief Muhammad Husain Mehnati will lead in the port city. Meanwhile, Liaquat Baloch has condemned the misbehaviour of the Islamabad airport authorities denying entry to the Saudi ambassador. He called upon prime minister to take immediate notice of the matter and bring the culprits to the book. He said Saudi Arabia was providing all out help and assistance to the flood affected people and the campaign for relief collection in the holy land was going on primarily due to the efforts of the Saudi envoy, Abdul Aziz Al-Ghadeer. He said it was unfortunate that the Pakistani rulers themselves were doing nothing for the flood victims while obstructions were being created in the efforts of the other countries in this regard. While addressing a function in connection with the 69th Foundation Day of the JJI here on Thursday, Baloch said the literature of JIs founder, Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi was revolutionary and had spread all over the world. Many of his books had been translated in more than 70 languages and millions of the people were benefiting from these. 18 truckloads sent to flood-hit areas Al-Khidmat Foundation has dispatched 18 trucks carrying relief goods worth Rs 18 million for the flood affected people of Naushera, Muzaffargardh, Layyah, Bhakkar, D G.Khan, Rajanpur and Sukkur. The Al-Khidmat units in Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sargodha and Rawalpindi have sent these trucks. Besides, a 150- member medical team comprising 12 doctors and paramedics from Gujrat had already reached Muzaffargardh and was attending the sick. The relief packets contain ration, eatables, and medicines. Thousands of tents have also been handed over to the affectees.
