PPP, PML-Q leaders urge govt to register FIR

LAHORE -  Following Lahore High Court decision upholding Session Court’s order regarding registration of FIR of the Model Town incident, the PPP and PML-Q have asked the government to implement the court verdict.
Senior PPP leader Mian Manzoor Wattoo called upon the government to register FIR against those who had been accused as responsible for murdering the PAT workers.  In a statement, he said that the ruling party must not vitiate the environment and rather undertake all possible steps to assuage the ongoing confrontation.  He said that the ruling party was a big stake holder in the system and the confrontation might benefit the Opposition but surely undermine the political system in the country.
Senior PML leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that in the light of judicial verdict case should immediately be registered against all accused including Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif who, according to him, had reached a blind alley because of their oppression and arrogance. Both must resign now, he added.
