LAHORE HSBC edged aside Zong to take the Silk Bank Cup here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Saturday while Guard Rice-Remington Pharma won the subsidiary final. HSBC quartet teamed up to ensure the title did not slip away from their grasp after they received tough resistance from the Zong players. Atif Tiwana (3), Sufi Mohammad Haris (2), Sufi Mohammad Amir (1) and Hashim Kamal Agha (1) combined effort brought win for them and they received the winners trophy from Silk Bank president Azmat Tarin at the end of the match. Sameer Habib Oberoi was the leading scorer from the losing side with three goals while Ahsan Usman Haye (2) and Javed Sher (1) completed their teams score. In the other game of the day, both the combined team of Guard Rice and Remington and Zic Oil-ASC remained equal on goals count. They got five each on the board with Taimur Mawaz Khan and Taimur Ali Malik scoring for the winners while Shah Qublai Alam was the lone star from the losing side after their league game loss brought them down on the final day. Saqib Khan Khakwani and Omar Asjad Malhi ensured that the game was played in the right spirit.
