LAHORE - Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Sunday said that Pak - China friendship was deep-rooted and time tested.
“Our relations are as deep as ocean and as high as Himalaya”, he observed during a meeting with a seven-member delegation from China, led by former Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Zhou Gang who called on him at Governor House.
Professor and former Cultural Consul of the Consulate General, Tang Mengsheng, former Ambassador Mr. Lu Shulin, former Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, Ms. Deng Bingjun, wife of Mr. Zhou Gang, Former Chinese Consul General Mr. An Qiguang, former Chinese Commercial Counselor Mr. Pang Rongguian, and First Secretary, Chinese Embassy Mr. Li Kei were also part of the delegation.
Governor Punjab said that China was a remarkable country which was nearing to reach the culmination of flourishing economy and was ruling the world due to its splendid progress and development. He further stated that Pakistan needed China’s cooperation and technical assistance in the energy sector as no country could achieve its goal without acquiring the wealth of energy. The Governor further said that both countries were enjoying complete convergence of views on all bilateral regional and international issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinese former Ambassador Mr. Zhou Gang said that Pakistan was China’s most reliable friend. “We appreciate Pakistan’s support for China’s point of view at international forum”. He thanked Pakistan for playing a vital role in mediating China’s relationship with countries like Saudi Arabia, USA and Middle Eastern countries. He further said that the Chinese had great love and reverence for the people of Pakistan.
