LAHORE - SSP Investigation Rana Ayaz Saleem has suspended Incharge Investigation of Old Anarkali Arshad Kahloon and Investigation Officer ASI Muhammad Tariq for arresting a citizen, Shahzad, in bogus case.
According to a handout, he has also issued show cause notices to the officials. Meanwhile, the SSP has awarded commendatory certificate to DSP Shahdara Circle Abid Hussain for substantial increase in the rate of submission of challans to the courts.
The mother of Shahzad submitted an application to SSP that police had arrested her son in a false case and sent him to jail by making bogus recovery upon which SSP Investigation ordered SP CRO Umar Riaz Cheema to hold an inquiry.
The inquiry report revealed that the allegations made by the woman were true upon which SSP Investigation suspended Incharge Investigation and Investigation Officer and initiated departmental action. The SSP said that dutiful and honest officers and officials will be encouraged at every level while stern action will be taken against inefficient officials.
He said that involving citizens in false cases and their illegal detention will not be tolerated and no leniency will be shown to the officials involved in such practices.
