JI amir poll: Vote counting on 29th

LAHORE - The head of Jamaat-e-Islami committee for the election of the party amir has said voting has been completed and counting of votes will begin on March 29 at Mansoora.
In a statement here on Wednesday, the committee chief, Abdul Hafeez Ahmed, said the election of the JI amir was a regular and constitutional process. At least 32,600 JI members voted in the election for the top slot of the party for a period of five years, he revealed.
He said: “The voting was completed on March 20. The last date for the receipt of the ballot boxes at Mansoora from all over the country is March 28. The ballot boxes will be opened on March 29 and the counting will begin the same day. The name of the new amir will be announced three days after the completion of the counting process.”
