Two women, minor girl injured in Lahore acid attack

Two women and a girl suffered burn injuries when unknown miscreants threw acid on them here in Lahore on Sunday.
According to details, unknown men hurled acid at two women who were busy in shopping in Islampura area of the city along with a minor girl and fled the scene.
Arooj, 24, Saba, 23, and the minor girl suffered burn wounds in the acid attack and were rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment.
According to hospital sources, the acid burnt the arms and foot of the victims, however their faces are safe.
Police said that the attack could be outcome of personal grudge but motives behind the attack would be ascertained after the investigations.
A case has also been registered against unknown accused and police have started search for them.
Meanwhile, organizations working for the rights of women have expressed grave concerns over the growing incidents of acid attacks on women and demanded the authorities concerned to bring the culprits to book and award them exemplary punishment.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while taking strict notice of the incident has ordered inquiry and asked police to nab the culprits.
