LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Ashiyana Housing Project is a revolutionary programme of provision of shelter to the shelter-less and utilisation of resources for the benefit of the poor.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the pace of progress on Ashiyana Housing Project, on Thursday. He said that modern residential facilities on the pattern of the colonies of the rich are being provided in Ashiyana Housing Schemes.
He said that Ashiyana Housing project is the realisation of the dream of the low income people to have their own house and this project is an example of high standard and transparency.
He said that balloting for Ashiyana Housing Schemes of Faisalabad and Sahiwal will soon be held and like Lahore, this process will be completed in a highly transparent manner.
Shahbaz Sharif said after Ashiyana Quaid, work is also being carried out expeditiously on Ashiyana Iqbal Project in Lahore while it has been decided to undertake balloting for Ashiyana Housing Schemes of Faisalabad and Sahiwal so that maximum people could benefit from these welfare schemes.
“Work is also in progress speedily on Ashiyana Housing Schemes of Bahawalpur, Kasur and Chiniot.
Like Ashiyana Quaid, allotment process for Ashiyana Housing Schemes in Faisalabad and Sahiwal will also be undertaken in a transparent manner through computerized balloting,” the chief minister said.
