LAHORE – Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Qayyum Khan on Wednesday awarded capital punishment to a convict Dr Muhammad Imran for killing his father Dr Zulifqar over a property issue.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs200,000 on the convict, failing which he would have to undergo imprisonment for further six months.
According to details, Abdul Sattar got registered an FIR against Dr Muhammad Imran in Hanjarwal Police Station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). He stated in the FIR that on June 7, 2009, his younger brother Imtiaz went to Dr Zulfiqar’s home. “On reaching there, Imtiaz informed me on phone that Dr Imran had gunned down his father Dr Zulfqar over a property issue,” the FIR read.
