LAHORE: Two persons were killed and three others wounded critically when the rooftop of a dilapidated house collapsed on them in South Cantonment, police and rescue workers said on Friday.
All the five family members including a three-year-old boy were present in the house located near Manawala bus-stop at Badian Road when all of a sudden its rooftop caved in with a bang. Soon after the incident, local residents and rescue workers launched the operations to pull out the victims from the debris.
Muhammad Irfan, 28, and Muhammad Zahid, 29, were recovered dead from the debris.
The rescuers managed to pull out another three persons identified as three-year-old Abdul Rahman, Ali, 14, and Asif, 17, with serious injuries. They were shifted to the Lahore General Hospital. Police handed over the bodies to the family. Further investigation was underway.–Staff Reporter
